The following links give information on federal agencies and their associated programs with whom RAE actively works.
Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) The White House Council on Environmental Quality coordinates Federal environmental efforts and works closely with agencies and other White House offices in the development of environmental policies and initiatives.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) NOAA is the scientific agency within the United States Department of Commerce focused on the conditions of the oceans and the atmosphere. NOAA warns of dangerous weather, charts seas and skies, guides the use and protection of ocean and coastal resources, and conducts research to improve understanding and stewardship of the environment.
- NOAA's Restoration Center is devoted to restoring the nation’s coastal, marine, and migratory fish habitat.
- In addition, NOAA's Estuary Restoration Program carries out the directives of the Estuary Restoration Act (ERA). NOAA currently serves as Chair of the ERA's Estuary Habitat Restoration Council.
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) NRCS works with landowners through conservation planning and assistance to benefit the soil, water, air, plants, and animals for productive lands and healthy ecosytems.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) The Army Corps is a federal agency generally associated with dams, canals, and flood protection in the United States.
- The Army Corps' Estuary Restoration Program carries out the directives of the Estuary Restoration Act (ERA). The Act authorizes $25 million annually for the Army Corps to implement on-the-ground restoration projects in conjunction with NOAA, the Fish & Wildlife Service, EPA, and NRCS. The five agencies comprise the ERA's Estuary Habitat Restoration Council.
- The Corps' protection and restoration program reflects the lessons we've learned as a society in recent years about the importance of re-establishing the natural functions of our nation's rivers, lakes, wetlands, and coasts.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Created in 1970, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency works to protect human health and the environment.
- EPA's National Estuary Program was established by Congress in 1987 to improve the quality of estuaries of national importance. The Clean Water Act Section 320 directs the EPA to develop plans for attaining or maintaining water quality in an estuary.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) USFWS, within the U.S. Department of the Interior, is dedicated to the management of fish, wildlife, and habitats. The USFWS mission is to work with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
- The USFWS Coastal Program conducts habitat restoration projects and assists with habitat protection in some of the nation's most important coastal ecosystems. The Program is an effective partnership that brings together USFWS scientists, biologists, coastal communities, and other conservation partners to protect and restore habitat in coastal regions and rivers.
